So it's been a while

So it has been a while since I last posted. Life is busy, and I actually had to recover my password. This morning I was having a great day, happy to be alive, happy to be a SAHM, happy to see my three kittens relaxing enjoying the slow, sleepy pace of a summer morning. We were out the door to swim team practice an hour early! Yay me, right? I thought I was brilliant.  I had packed snacks and iPods for the kittens so they could entertain themselves while I worked out doing lap swim. So brilliant! WRONG!!!

I had an awesome workout, I felt strong, and graceful and all workouty, like I could be on an olympic team if I was just a few years younger. As I gracefully got out of the pool, and toweled off, I noticed the swim coach consoling B my middle kitten. He was in full on cry mode, sobbing and panic crying. As I walked over bracing myself for the news that he had broken a bone or fallen and skinned off both knees I hear him blubbering "yes she is, she really is going to kill me. she will definitely kill me." Coach D is trying not to laugh and is gently telling him, "she is NOT going to kill you, it will be ok." He looks at me and says "mom I dropped my iPod touch and it broke, it is broken."

All I can say is God really does work in mysterious ways. I was so blissed out from swimming for forty five minutes that I could only muster a "bummer dude." Now, I am actually very angry at my child.  He was irresponsible with his birthday gift that is very expensive, and because we won it, there is no warranty.  And under normal circumstances I probably would have killed him, but I just don't have the energy. Swimming does that to you, just sucks all the energy right out.

Sometimes if feels like life is full of surprises (some good, some awful) that just bubble up and burst all over everything. Then I have a day like today. A day where I absolutely feel God protecting me, protecting my children from me and guiding me through life. There are days where I float along, and don't think about His presence in my life, where I am so busy with small tasks that I forget to see how He is always there with me. Now, hopefully God is guiding Eric, cause he is absolutely going to lose his shit when he gets home. Maybe he will stop for a swim before he comes home...
